Join Our Team as a Cyber Security Analyst Intern!

This position is an exciting opportunity for a Computer science student to do work that combines practical on-the job experience and real-world exposure to Cybersecurity vulnerabilities, technical learning, and professional development. The intern will monitor, identify, and assess cyber security vulnerabilities in third-party hardware and software components used in S&C products. The intern will be responsible for using vulnerability tracking software like Dependency Track and present a consolidated dashboard of cybersecurity vulnerabilities pulling in data from multiple sources like supplier alerts and vulnerability aggregators.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Monitoring, collecting, and presenting cybersecurity vulnerability data for hardware and software components used in S&C products from multiple sources like Dependency Track, supplier alerts, Google alerts, and vulnerability aggregators

  • Automating the process of monitoring and reporting cybersecurity vulnerability data from multiple sources so that cybersecurity vulnerability tracking can be performed at scale for third-party hardware and software components in all S&C products.

  • Designing and creating a consolidated dashboard, preferably integrated with JIRA and Confluence, that can pull in cybersecurity vulnerability data from multiple sources and present one comprehensive view

  • Manually using one or more methods to identify vulnerabilities and notify the product owners

  • Defining the problem and identifying possible solutions and strategies.

  • Implementing solutions and reporting findings.

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate college student attending an accredited program working towards a BS or MS degree in computer engineering, computer science or a related engineering field

  • Work schedule will be flexible to match your course schedules but prefer at least 20 hours a week.

  • Working knowledge of programming languages like C#, C++, C Java, and one or more scripting languages like JavaScript, Python, Ruby.

  • Prior experience with automation is desirable.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a constantly changing environment.

  • Able to work for the full school year (able to work multi-years is a plus).

MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 40 pounds.

  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling

  • Work is performed in a computer laboratory and office environment
