Hardware Engineering is a diverse, innovative, and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. We're seeking curious and talented teammates to keep us moving in the right direction.

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Product Quality Manager

You will:



  • Design and implement business intelligence solutions for manufacturing, quality control, and financial systems, integrating data from ERP, MES, and QMS for comprehensive reporting
  • Define and refine KPIs for quality and manufacturing operations (e.g., Non Conformance rate, yield rates, rework costs, downtime, cost of quality, CpK/PpK, OEE, Cycle Time, Throughput, Production Yield, Scrap and Rework Rates)
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and portals (Tableau, Power BI) to track KPIs across quality, manufacturing, remanufacturing, and cost-related processes
  • Apply quantitative analytics techniques (statistical modeling, regression analysis, time-series forecasting, predictive analytics) to assess process performance and cost drivers
  • Analyze data from remanufacturing processes to optimize workflows and monitor KPIs like cycle Time, component reuse rate, return rates, refurbishment yield, and cost per remanufactured unit
  • Assess process capability and quality performance with Contract Manufacturers using statistical analysis (e.g., Six Sigma methodologies, regression analysis)
  • Implement data-driven process improvements and actions to enhance product quality through Lean or Six Sigma initiatives
  • Develop a framework for 8D problem solving & supplier portals to gather and consolidate data from manufacturing, quality control, and quality management processes
  • Support leadership by analyzing cost data related to manufacturing and remanufacturing processes, including material costs, labor costs, scrap, and rework expenses, and provide actionable recommendations



You have:



  • BS degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field. Master's degree or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in manufacturing or quality assurance.Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP systems, or quality management systems (QMS)
  • Direct experience working in engineering and manufacturing teams, and deep understanding of product /hardware development plan is preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView) for dashboard and portal development
  • Expertise in quantitative analytics tools (e.g., Python, R,SQL, Excel MATLAB, SAS) for statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data mining



We prefer:



  • Experience working with contract Manufacturer from prototype to production is a plus
  • 5+ years in product development process, understanding of prototype to production
  • The ideal candidate is skilled in data analytics, proficient in statistical tools, and has a strong understanding of manufacturing and quality assurance processes
  • Experience in new product introduction
  • Experience in module and vehicle integration
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, oral & written communication skills Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally and within a matrix organization
  • Comprehensive understanding of launch process and critical path management
  • Strong technical abilities - able to work closely/credibly with highly technical teams

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
