WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

FUNCTION OF THE JOB

Under the supervision of the Data Management Supervisor and the direction of the IT Solutions Manager, the Workday Data & Reporting Administrator coordinates and leads the County's data management and reporting initiatives within the Workday ecosystem. The role involves optimizing data integrity, generating comprehensive reports, and ensuring that reporting services meet departmental and organizational needs efficiently and effectively. This position acts as a key partner to Finance, HR, and Payroll, collaborating closely with these business functions to identify the County's Workday data and reporting needs. The Workday Data & Reporting Administrator works alongside these functions to develop and implement tailored solutions that directly address the County's Workday data & reporting requirements, supporting them in leveraging Workday's data capabilities to enhance operational outcomes.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Governance, Security & Compliance:
    • Oversee data integrity and adherence to governance standards within Workday.
    • Perform regular audits to maintain data accuracy and quality.
    • Implement least privilege access strategies to bolster data security and minimize risks.
    • Collaborate with the Workday security team to ensure data access aligns with County Data Governance principles, balancing accessibility and protection.
    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Workday security and data accessibility.
    • Support various audit and compliance reporting needs via Workday.
  • Report Development:
    • Design, build, and maintain simple to complex reports and dashboards within Workday and Adaptive Planning, including Advanced, Matrix, Composite, metrics/KPI s and Dashboards using Workday Report writer, BIRT, worksheets, Discovery Boards and Slides and other tools available.
    • Leverage Workday Prism Analytics for advanced data insights.
  • Dashboards and Visualizations:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain engaging Workday Dashboards to provide stakeholders with actionable insights and easy-to-understand visual data representations.
    • Customize dashboards to align with the specific needs of various departments, ensuring relevance and utility in meeting operational goals.
  • User Support:
    • Train users and staff on Workday reporting tools and methodologies.
    • Collaborate with Finance, HR, IT, and Payroll staff to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaboration and Needs Assessment:
    • Coordinate with various business function leads and teams to identify Workday data, reporting, and dashboard needs as well as ensuring data accuracy and consistency across all reporting solutions.
    • Effectively evaluate business requirements against Workday data, reporting, and dashboard capabilities and design appropriate strategies to meet those requirements.
  • System Optimization and Data Integration:
    • Support system upgrades and configuration changes concerning data and reporting.
    • Assist with the management of integrations for seamless data flow between Workday, Adaptive Planning, and other County systems, enhancing efficiency and interoperability.
    • Support integration troubleshooting and collaborate with technical teams to refine integration processes.
  • Issue Resolution:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting-related issues, proposing system enhancements where applicable.
    • Engage various teams as needed to address and resolve Workday data and report issues and concerns, ensuring a rapid and effective response to minimize disruption and support continuous operations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Engage actively with diverse business functional areas, including Finance, HR, and Payroll, to understand and translate their requirements into actionable enhancements of the County's Workday data and reporting capabilities.
    • Serve as a bridge between technical teams and business units to ensure alignment and effective communication.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing Workday reporting and data systems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Workday Report Writer, BIRT, and Prism Analytics.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of project management principles applied to IT and data management projects.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish effective working relationships and communicate complex data insights clearly.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions. Ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Simultaneous Processing: Ability to manage, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work assignments and projects.
  • Record Keeping: Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare comprehensive reports.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, database management, data management, or a closely related discipline, AND three (3) years of relevant work experience in Workday reporting.(A master's degree in computer science, data management, or closely related discipline may substitute for one (1) year of the required work experience.)

OR

Associate degree in computer science, database management, data management, or a closely related discipline, AND five (5) years of relevant work experience in Workday reporting.

PREFERRED: Workday Pro Certification in Reporting.
