Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. We hire people that are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome-based strategies which support personal and community transformation.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 4:30 pm

Location: Central City Concern Administration Office-232 NW 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97209

Compensation: $27.04-$35.15/hr

SUMMARY: The Accounting Tech III is responsible for providing support to the Accounting department through a variety of essential functions including, but not limited to, accounts payable, utilities, file maintenance, and communication with both internal and external sources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Receive invoices from vendors for initial processing including, but not limited to, coding, date-stamping, organizing, and sending to managers for approval.
  • Log invoices for distribution to managers and perform due diligence on delinquent or missing invoices in a timely manner.
  • Enter and code all invoices into Concur software and route to appropriate manager for approval.
  • Format and upload daily Concur invoice batches into MIP.
  • Review and process invoices in Concur.
  • Input reviewed invoices into MIP accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Proactively contact and verify banking details for ACH vendors.
  • Code and input utility bill for all CCC locations.
  • Train approving managers in coding and assist with questions.
  • Process and review weekly check run.
  • Generate and obtain approvals for weekly check register.
  • Print weekly checks and attached remittances as needed.
  • Send out approved checks for disbursement to vendors in an expedient manner.
  • Maintain Accounts Payable files including, but not limited to, creating new folders, keeping them organized and tidy, and transferring old files to the appropriate locations.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers' patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediate reporting of any PHI breach of CCC or outside provider health records to the CCC Legal and Quality departments, as well as to the program administrator.


DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:



  • Periodically verify vendor statement balances and reconcile with accounting records.
  • Periodically communicate with vendors and ensure that all questions are answered and issues resolved.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Ability to consider the impacts and outcomes for underserved communities during decision-making process.
  • Ability to consider impacts of oppression, structural racism, and individual bias on client outcomes.
  • Good computational, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, complete tasks accurately, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and organize large amounts of information.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 3 year of accounts payable experience required.
  • Excellent computer skills. Microsoft Office applications, especially, Excel and Word. SAGE MIP fund accounting software preferred.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB Test, and background check.
  • If in recovery, must be currently clean and sober.
  • Must adhere to agency's non-discrimination policies.
