Provide technical support to the Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) to conduct rigorous mission engineering activities to identify and prioritize investments in capabilities with the potential to meet current and future warfighting needs, close warfighting gaps, and enable Joint Force interoperability and integration. In addition to harness modeling and simulation (M&S) tools and advanced techniques to develop and analyze critical Joint Mission Engineering Threads (METs) / "Kill Webs" in operational scenarios, enabling DoD leaders to make informed technology investment decisions. Roles/Responsibilities:
- Showcase knowledge of network, software, and compute virtualization technologies and knowledge management systems, disaster recovery systems and records management.
- Experience in digital engineering or information technology to design, implement or sustain digital platforms; configuring on-premise or cloud-based compute environment; working with unclassified and classified networks (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS) and associated cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience in evaluating and recommending software tools, digital platforms, or information technology architecture to meet customer or user requirements.
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC), server configurations, virtual machines, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Demonstrated experience coordinating with information technology and security personnel on system integration, network connectivity, and access management for digital environments or platforms.
Required Skills and Education:
- 7 years of experience in digital engineering or information technology to design, implement or sustain digital platforms; configuring on-premise or cloud-based compute environment; working with unclassified and classified networks (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS) and associated cybersecurity requirements.
- 5 years of experience in evaluating and recommending software tools, digital platforms, or information technology architecture to meet customer or user requirements.
- 3 years of experience with high-performance computing (HPC), server configurations, virtual machines, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- 2 years of demonstrated experience coordinating with information technology and security personnel on system integration, network connectivity, and access management for digital environments or platforms.
Education:
- Bachelors: Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or related discipline
