The part-time research coordinator will work at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and will be responsible for providing a moderate range of coordination functions. Responsible for supporting, promoting, and coordinating the implementation of a range of projects focused on adolescent and young adult health broadly, as well as qualitative and mixed methods projects. Promotes, coordinates and supports the development of research projects (gathering, collecting and analysis data), as well as submissions to the IRB and other regulatory bodies. Ensures the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and required obligations to research participants, Principal Investigator, research team and the sponsor. Keeps the research team moving forward, anticipates potential barriers to the success of the project, and suggests and implements creative solutions to barriers. Reports directly to Principal Investigator; works under general supervision. Job Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and coordinating: organizes and coordinates schedules, meetings, and activities.
- Project coordination: provides moderate to advanced coordination of project(s) that includes but is not limited to: coordination of project(s) while working/communicating with internal and external parties to organized and coordinate the various components needed to initiate, run, and conclude project activities. Might evaluate and make recommendations based on analyses, observation and/or feedback.
- Develops project schedules, helps oversee project purchase requisitions, reimbursements, and invoice payments. Assists in developing plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Reports: prepares and review documents independently and generates status/progress reports for ongoing and pending projects/programs. Plans, arranges, outlines, and drafts letters, memos, agendas, presentations, and reports. Reviews, edits, and obtains appropriate approvals. Responds to more complex correspondence and refers the more complex issues with recommendations to supervisor. Follows protocols as defined by the grant and Medical Centers policies and procedures.
- Research activities: Assists with literature reviews, qualitative data analysis, manuscript and professional presentation formatting/preparation under the supervision of the PI. May have opportunities to assist with data collection as well. Coordinates meetings, data requests, data management with other investigators.
- Assists with preparation and submission of necessary documents required by NYULH Institutional Review Board (IRB), Office of Clinical Trials, other review entities as needed for the conduct of human subjects research. Liaises with collaborators on IRB submissions at external sites as needed.
- Ensures accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practice, HIPAA, international guidelines, and required obligations to participants, PI, research team, and sponsor.
- May also assist with reporting of enrollment and/or other human subjects information to NYULH, and the the sponsor. Aware of study regulatory status and keeps up-to-date copy of regulatory materials. Monitors any issues related to participant safety and reports these to the PI.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field. Minimum of two years of progressively responsible project coordination experience, preferably in a research setting. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Commitment to continuous learning as required by department administration. Ability to operate research related equipment Ability to work and make decisions independently. Time management skills and ability to multitask. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems: Ability to work well under pressure. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of basic medical terminology is preferred. Experience with qualitative and/or mixed methods research. Experience working in an Academic Medical Center preferred Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
