The Smithfield Internal Audit team is seeking out driven, detail-oriented professionals to support the execution of a coordinated annual risk assessment and audit planning process, participate in financial, operational and compliance audits, testing of the Company's internal controls and management requests as well as work closely with and partner with the Company Management, while preserving the superior financial standing of our company. As the Manager of Internal Audit, you will report directly to the Sr. Manager and/or Director of Internal Audit. Your mission will be to drive excellence in our risk assessment and audit planning processes. Your contributions will shape the financial, operational, and compliance landscape of our business. Risk Assessment and Audit Planning: You will be responsible for executing a continuous risk assessment process aligned with the Company's Enterprise Risk Management Framework. You will maintain and update the Audit Universe covering all locations and business processes. Audit Execution: You will ensure the appropriate execution of audit assignments by performing the Risk and Planning Memo in a way that identifies potential risk areas and tailoring the detailed Audit Program to those risk areas. You will also communicate the objectives and scope of each audit assignment to the pertinent management prior to starting the job and ensure all steps of the Audit Program are completed. Furthermore, you will guarantee the execution and completion of audit assignments in terms of both time and quality, and you will ensure that audit results and conclusions are adequately communicated at the end of the audit. You will follow up on the effective implementation of prior audit recommendations. Quality and Improvement: You will be accountable for fostering a quality-oriented environment stressing continuous improvement. You will implement quality initiatives as may be issued from time to time. Communication and Collaboration: You will provide effective and efficient cooperation with management and the external auditors. You will maintain effective communications with management and other members of the global Smithfield audit team. You will develop and foster effective relationships with operating company personnel. You will provide and maintain a cooperation program with the external auditors, ensuring adequate audit coverage, avoiding duplication of work, and making maximum use of each other's work.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accountancy, Finance or Economics and 5+ years of relevant experience in the profession of Auditing obtained through a blend of public accounting or industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 2+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and auditing practices. Excellent interpersonal skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, to effectively present to peers and management. Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities. Experience in performing multiple projects. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Promote an ethical culture utilizing these 4 cores values: integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and competency. Solid business judgement and excellent analytical abilities. Energized by travel 25-30% of the time. Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or MBA desirable. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
