Position Summary

The SR HR Generalist is the HR Business Partner for two plant managers, providing strategic guidance and partnership as a member of the plant leadership team. They are a culture champion for Sealed Air's Core Values, Core Competencies, and Leadership Behaviors, providing human resources support for over 200 manufacturing and office employees in Louisville, KY and Danbury, CT. Responsibilities include developing plant leaders, employee engagement, leads the plant and office staffing process for supported sites, ensures consistent practice and policy interpretation, driving the cyclical HR SEE calendar for supported sites, investigations, opportunity for local, North American and global project work, and continuously works to improve HR processes. Must be able to work a flexible schedule when necessary to support all shifts of employees.

Job Description

* Serve all employees to ensure their questions and concerns are answered in a timely and positive manner. This includes all areas of HR such as: practices, policies, benefits, training, compensation, special programs, performance management, and other related HR activities. Based on subject, may need to refer person to another HR teammate or outside provider but ensures that person is serviced.
* Must be able and willing to adjust schedule as necessary to provide HR support on all shifts.
* Responsible for supporting the hiring process for manufacturing hourly roles and office positions.
* Develop and promote feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of HR services and processes
* Coach, counsel, and guide managers before the execution of employee disciplinary actions.
* Conduct investigations and drive positive employee relations.
* Develop, coach, and counsel the management team at supported sites.
* Works with plant managers to establish labor targets and utilize hiring process to ensure qualified candidates are hired on a timely basis.
* Support and train managers and supervisors regarding company policies and HR processes. Work to ensure consistent applications of policies and practices.
* Perform or manage the administrative functions required in supporting Human Resources and HRIS activities. This includes change of statuses, leave management, reports, files, records keeping, projects, etc.
* Support or lead HR projects. As a member of the North American HR team, project work on wide ranging areas of HR practice, policies, or Centers of Excellence specialty areas are available to high performers.
* Support training programs. Work to continually improve HR service and processes.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. PHR/SCRM-CP preferred.
* 2-5 years of HR generalist, HR business partner, or HR Manager experience - strong preference for manufacturing HR experience. Staffing experience preferred.
* Ability and willingness to work flexible schedule to cover shifts; schedule can be early or later hours on some days.
* Knowledge of laws pertaining to HR, compensation, benefits, and training.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; HRIS experience preferred.
* Experience with continuous improvement through employee engagement and performance management.
* Communications skills: verbal, written, and group facilitation and presentation.
* Servant leader, positive approach, team player.
