Location: Indianapolis area | Salary Range: 65k - $75K

POSITION SUMMARY

As a valued member of the Human Resources Department, the payroll analyst is primarily responsible for overseeing and auditing the daily the company's payroll processes and transactions, ensuring efficiency and timeliness. The payroll analyst will also research, evaluate and ensure that payroll issues are discrepancies are resolved in a proper and timely manner. The payroll analyst collaborates with other Human Resources team members and operations managers to accurately maintain and update employment records in the HRIS. This position requires a confident, a detail oriented professional with strong organizational and time management skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Preparing all payroll transactions and verifying employees' work hours
  • Processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll
  • Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data
  • Preparing garnishments
  • Manages quarterly and annual payroll taxes.
  • Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, and non-taxable wages.
  • Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including local, state and federal income and social security tax and calculating employers' payments for social security, unemployment and worker's Compensation
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
  • Processing and issuing W-2 forms.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Other duties as assigned with in a team environment.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of multi state payroll laws.
  • Basic knowledge of general business practices.
  • Basic knowledge of general math skills.
  • Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail often under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and HRIS software.
  • Basic knowledge of processes and technologies used in prototyping and manufacturing.

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Accounting, Business Human Resources or other related degree/field.
  • 5+ years' experience in a payroll processing position required.
  • 5+ years' multi state tax experience required.
  • ADP Workforce Now experience desired.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Processional (CPP) credentials preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to reach with hands and arms to operate computer, phone and general office equipment and handle documents.
  • Ability to talk or hear.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch occasionally throughout workday.
  • Ability to carry or lift up to 10 lbs occasionally throughout workday.
  • Ability to focus vision for close vision, depth perception, and adjusting to sharp focus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional exposure to noise conditions ranging from moderate to extreme.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes and or airborne particles.

WORK HOURS
  • 1st shift work schedule, Monday through Friday. However, occasional after hours work maybe required to support other shifts or time zones.
  • This position has some flexibility with supervisor approval for remote work.
  • Flexible scheduling in agreement with supervisor.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and proper insurance coverage for required travel.
  • Local travel (10%)
