Summary:

The Sponsorship Sales and Business Development Manageris responsible for executing a strategic sales plan to drive revenue and expandbrand presence for the UNC Health Championship, a marquee PGA Korn Ferry Tourevent and one of the region's premier sporting experiences. As title sponsor,UNC Health is committed to elevating the sport and also to making a meaningfulimpact on the health and wellness of the communities we serve. Responsibilitiesinclude designing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies toidentify new business opportunities and grow existing client relationships.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive sponsorship sales strategy in partnership with tournament leadership.
  • Drive significant revenue growth by identifying new, high-value sponsorship opportunities and strengthening relationships with existing partners.
  • Develop and manage the sponsorship opportunity pipeline, providing 30/60 day forecasts, sales projections, and financial reports.
  • Collaborate closely with the UNC Health Championship Tournament Director to define annual goals, pricing, and packaging of all sponsorship assets.
  • Identify, conceptualize, and lead special projects to create new revenue streams and growth opportunities.
  • Sponsorship Management & Execution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all UNC Health Championship sponsors, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure they receive maximum value from their partnership.
  • Develop and deliver compelling, customized sales presentations that create a clear value proposition for prospective and existing partners.
  • Manage the full contract renewal process, including developing renewal strategies and ensuring timely execution.
  • Ensure the full execution of all sponsor deliverables and on-site activations, adhering to brand guidelines and event standards.
  • Manage the Pro-Am event in partnership with tournament and UNC Health leadership.
  • Oversee year-round sponsorship asset fulfillment and communicate periodically with sponsors to keep them informed.

Market Engagement & Collaboration

  • Represent the UNC Health Championship at local and industry events, engaging with corporate and community leaders to cultivate positive relationships.
  • Activate the UNC Health brand in corporate and charitable spheres by generating corporate leads and group sales.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with prospective and existing clients, or connect with them via virtual meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with the integrated marketing and communications team on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Engage and manage the UNC Health Championship Ambassador Group to drive growth in new business.

Organizational Support & Administration

  • Contribute to UNC Health departmental operations, including budget management, cost containment, and internal communication.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the integrated team within UNC Health.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial and demographic factors to identify marketing opportunities and mitigate competitive risks.

Professional Experience Requirements:
* Minimum of five (5) years of sales, sponsorship, or business development experience, ideally in sports or events
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
*Proven track record of exceeding revenue goals and driving business growth.
*Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
*Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
*Ability to think strategically and creatively to develop meaningful and valuable partnerships.
*Familiarity with CRM systems and financial reporting tools preferred.
