Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for an Front Office Supervisor for our office in Elizabeth City, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all office functions to ensure smooth daily operations with patient flow, front office activities, office maintenance and patient concerns.
  • Serve as a working supervisor, assisting with scheduling, coverage, and workflow optimization.
  • Act as a communication bridge between front office staff and other departments.
  • Ensure timely completion of daily and monthly operational checklists.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate front office staff; manage performance goals and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and implement office policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Review legal and medical record requests to ensure compliance with authorization protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and collection-related legal requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

The position requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. The employee occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. The position requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
