Position Overview Division Order Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading the Division Order function within one of Oxy's asset areas. This role manages a team of analysts and ensures the accurate facilitation of revenue distribution from oil and gas sales, as well as the collection of well-related expenses. The manager plays a critical role in determining ownership interests, including those of the company, working interest partners, and royalty holders, through detailed research and analysis of title documentation. Additionally, this position supports senior leadership in the development, mentorship, and strategic direction of the Division Order team, contributing to both operational excellence and team growth. Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of Division Order professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Develop and implement processes to identify, mitigate, and resolve risks associated with division order setup and ongoing maintenance.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives involving acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic projects in coordination with internal departments.
- Support legal and land teams by assisting with litigation matters and providing relevant documentation and analysis as needed.
- Champion continuous improvement by initiating and leading discussions on process enhancements and presenting actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Ensure all legal, procedural, and operational requirements are accurately addressed and integrated into project execution.
- Perform in-depth analysis and interpretation of complex and ambiguous legal documents, including leases, division orders, contracts, deeds, probate records, and assignments.
- Conduct thorough due diligence reviews to support business decisions, ensuring all relevant legal documentation is identified, analyzed, and reported.
- Prepare and present due diligence findings and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including landowners and partner companies, managing sensitive and complex issues with professionalism.
- Identify and promote internal and external training opportunities to support the ongoing development of team members.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree required.
- Demonstrates emerging leadership capabilities with a proactive and accountable mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; open and adaptable to learning additional software applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience with Quorum Land System and SAP is highly desirable.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
- Maintains strict confidentiality with sensitive and proprietary company information.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- Solid understanding of basic land principles and their application; able to accurately interpret and enter land data into management systems.
- General knowledge of land terminology and contracts, with the ability to handle increasingly complex projects under minimal supervision.
- Prior experience with New Mexico assets is a plus.
- The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-10%.
