The Opportunity

AdobeFireflyFoundry is a managed generative-AI service purpose-built for enterprises that need to scale content creation without compromising brand safety or workflow efficiency. By letting customers train private Firefly models on their own intellectual property-under strict data isolation and copyright indemnification-and deploy those models directly into Adobe Creative Cloud, Experience Cloud, and proprietary platforms via FireflyServices APIs, Foundry closes the gap left by consumergrade GenAI tools and empowers brands to deliver tentimes the creative output at professional quality.

As Director of AppliedAI for FireflyFoundry, you will be the technical and strategic steward of this platform, translating stateoftheart research into secure, productionready capabilities, championing them in customer and industry settings, and building the worldclass team that will turn vision into reality.

What you'll do

  • Layout a multi-horizon strategy to guide our Firefly Foundry workflow and enterprise model research and development efforts based on the latest and greatest in Generative AI. Iterate on this strategy as the field evolves and new barriers are breached.
  • Represent Firefly Foundry in customer facing settings. Socialize what's possible now or in near future to inform the customer's AI adoption roadmap.
  • Be a bridge between Adobe's research labs, product management and engineering teams to align and amplify their efforts.
  • Hire and lead a diverse team of world-class AI/ML applied scientists and engineers while being responsible for driving all aspects of ML product development: ML modeling, data/ML pipelines, quality evaluations, productization, and ML Ops for Firefly Foundry.
  • Create and instill a team culture that focuses on sound scientific processes and encourages deep engagement with our customers.
  • Handle project scope and risks with data, analytics and creative problem solving putting the customer first.
What you'll need to succeed
  • A minimum of ten years of technical leadership experience in applying modern AI/ML techniques to build ML features/products and/or in AI/ML research.
  • Expertise with LLMs and/or Generative AI.Hands on experience in building AI foundational models for multimedia content understanding and generation.
  • Proven management experience with highly diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage in a high growth, matrixed organization.
  • Track record of delivering high quality, industry leading research-first solutions on time.
  • An ability to think strategically, look around corners, and create a vision for the current quarter, the year, and five years down the road.
  • A relentless pursuit of great customer experiences and continuous improvements to the product.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $193,900 -- $373,600 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
