Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler based in Nampa, ID. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of equipment and facilities in a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all maintenance activities to minimize downtime, support production goals, and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, food safety, environmental, and hygiene regulations (GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, FDA, ISO, USDA).
  • Incorporate safety protocols into job plans and maintain the integrity of food contact surfaces and hygiene equipment.
  • Develop and maintain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules using CMMS (SAP and Maximo).
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams (production, sanitation, quality) and external contractors.
  • Plan and execute maintenance shutdowns and major repairs with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Create and maintain a rolling 28-day maintenance schedule (2 weeks fixed, 2 weeks tentative).
  • Review, prioritize, and assign work orders based on urgency, equipment criticality, and production needs.
  • Ensure all job plans include required parts, tools, labor, safety procedures, and estimated time.
  • Track work order completion, backlog, and ensure timely closure in the CMMS.
  • Review and update preventative and predictive maintenance scripts and frequencies.
  • Ensure proper work loading for maintenance technicians and accurate timekeeping
  • Review spare parts inventory and coordinate with parts room buyers/vendors for timely procurement.
  • Review assets against parts room stock and adjust stock levels as needed.
  • Assemble maintenance kits and verify material availability before scheduling jobs.
  • Monitor KPIs such as equipment uptime, PM compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs.
  • Analyze historical data to identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Generate reports for leadership on maintenance performance and schedule adherence
  • Participate in daily maintenance team routines and contribute to achieving department KPIs.
  • Train technicians on CMMS usage and support parts room operations when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align maintenance with production priorities.
  • Primarily office-based with frequent visits to production areas.
  • Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving machinery, heights, and electrical systems.
  • May require lifting up to 50 lbs. and working rotating shifts or weekends as needed.

Requirements

* High school diploma or GED required.

* Associate or bachelor's degree in industrial maintenance, Engineering, or related field preferred.

* 2-5 years of experience in maintenance planning/scheduling, preferably in food manufacturing.

* Familiarity with CMMS platforms (SAP, Maximo) and Microsoft Excel.

* Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.

* Strong understanding or willingness to learn mechanical and electrical systems, schematics, and technical manuals.

* Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
