The Outlook Technician delivers and services key refinery accounts relative to their inventory of gases, consumables and safety products. Additionally, this position does basic troubleshooting and mechanical repairs as needed. This position focuses on servicing existing refinery accounts throughout an assigned territory. You will be responsible for the following tasks and other tasks as assigned such as safely and efficiently, operate a commercial motor vehicle and deliver the atmospheric, flammable, industrial gases and hard-good products to customers by performing the following:
Pay: $32-$38/Hr depending on experience
  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Responsible for participating in identifying any safety and/or health hazards while in the workplace.

  • Maintain a safe driving record and appropriate driver's license classification while operating company vehicles and equipment.

  • Loads and unloads service trucks with gas cylinders, containers and supplies for scheduled route deliveries as directed by dispatcher.

  • Makes deliveries in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction is met.

  • Ensures that all documents required to move and deliver the load are available and accurate.

  • Perform any non-route delivery necessary to provide customers with products.

  • Maintains records promptly and accurately as required by the company and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

  • Inspects vehicles for defects and safe operating conditions before each delivery (pre-trip) and submit necessary documentation to report any defects or problems immediately.

  • Performs post-trip delivery at the end of each shift.

  • Identify potential problems with cylinders and notify management in a timely manner.

  • Performs all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, local and DOT regulations.

  • Pulls orders from the warehouse as necessary.

  • Provides support to internal and external customers to maintain inventory and delivery needs.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting and repair mechanical systems as needed.

  • Review manual stock levels of various inventories at multiple plant departments for reorder.

  • Outlook responsibilities include commuting to assigned refinery sites to manage service relationships and packaged gas inventory of Airgas Cylinders/VGL's on customer's site.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate, Bachelor's degree in Business, Welding Technology, or sales preferred.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • Valid Class A CDL with HAZMAT, Tanker & Airbrake endorsements

  • Maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card & endorsements

  • Must currently have, or be able to pass the background to receive a TWIC card is mandatory for this position.

  • Must have 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years, or be able able to provide proof of a certificate of completion from trucking school completed in the last 5 years

  • No more than two (2) traffic convictions: OR two (2) at-fault accident in the last 3 years; or no more
    than a combination of one (1) traffic conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last 3 years

  • No driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven (7)
    years.

  • Proficient working knowledge of Google Suite (GMAIL, Sheets, Docs, etc.

  • Experience operating a forklift is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA's):

  • Working knowledge of all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations for commercial drivers.

  • Must consistently demonstrate the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable interacting with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds within Airgas and outside the Company.

  • Excellent customer service and communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Strong problem-solver, with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Demonstrated planning skills and outstanding personal relationship skills.

  • Possess the ability to read a map and follow directions to effectively navigate delivery routes.

  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

  • Self-starter; self-motivated; operates with a sense of urgency; ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.

  • Requires both indoor & outdoor environments in various seasonal weather conditions.

  • Possess a commitment and desire to work safely and ethically

  • DOT pre-employment and random drug testing applies.

  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
