Office of Service Learning

Job Description

This position provides comprehensive support for the Office of Community Engaged Learning (CEL) through a combination of administrative, technical, and student-facing tasks. Responsibilities include managing the service-learning platform (GivePulse), assisting with student placements, evaluations, and registrations, and offering frontline support to students, faculty, and community partners.

Key Duties:

  • Platform Management:
    • Manage the CEL service-learning platform (GivePulse).
    • Maintain platform usability and work with representatives on best practices.
    • Assist with registration, evaluations, and course uploading.
    • Ensure partner information is accurate and update as needed.
    • Manage CEL Handshake account including occasional Civic Leaders Internship Program (CLIP) internship postings as needed and registration page for the annual Public Service Career & Internship Fair.
  • Student & Faculty Support
    • Answer questions about orientations, Zoom, registrations, placements, etc.
    • Provide frontline support for students and faculty regarding service learning.
    • Assist with placement orientation, registration, and attendance tracking.
    • Schedule and send regular check-in emails to stakeholders.
  • Project Managements:
    • Assist with program organization and placement evaluations.
    • Assist CEL Director in managing all aspects of annual Public Service Career and Internship Fair.
    • Develop and implement tracking systems for microcredentials.
    • Support CEL's involvement in campuswide High-Impact Practices promotion and faculty support efforts.
    • Generate reports on community engaged learning efforts at MU
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Track the main resource account and forward/tag emails.
    • Answer the main telephone line and manage mail.
    • Perform inventory management and maintain tabling gear.
    • Relay partner, student, or faculty issues to the Senior Coordinator.
Shift

Monday - Friday, 8 - 5 PM. Ability to travel and flex time to work some evenings for special events may be required to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online platforms (GivePulse or similar).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and efficient with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience in higher education, non-profits or service learning preferred.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $17.05 - $23.37 hourly

Grade: GGS-007
