About the Position:


The Disability Services Testing Center Assistant and Special Projects reports to the Director of Disability Services. This position is a dual role in the Disability Services Testing Center and Disability Services main office.


Hours: Part-Time (maximum of 29 hours per week)
* Regular Schedule: Monday through Friday with flexible hours between 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM.
* During fall and spring final exams, flexible scheduling is needed within the timeframe of 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
* Will follow University holiday calendar and closures.


Responsibilities:


Testing Center Responsibilities


The Testing Center Assistant is responsible for:



  • Maintaining secure exam delivery and superior customer services in a comfortable, friendly educational environment;
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students regarding testing policies and procedures. This position requires strict adherence to university policies and understanding and compliance with all testing procedures;
  • Assists with the day-to-day operations of the testing center;
  • Performs verification of student identification, proctoring examinees while testing, maintaining a secure testing environment, and using a student database containing confidential personal information;
  • Works closely with faculty and students to schedule exams, and verifies accommodations;
  • Acts as a scribe or reader when necessary; and
  • Completes other duties as assigned.


Disability Services Main Office Responsibilities


This position will assist the Disability Services Main office with:



  • Working on projects (e.g., research, updating policies/procedures, record keeping, database management); and
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience in working with computers, along with modifying and maintaining databases;
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and maintain confidentiality; and
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated customer service experience;
  • Experience working with students who have disabilities; and
  • A working knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the ADAA of 2008, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and other appropriate laws.
