Moog Space and Defense Groupis excited to announce an opportunity for anEngineering Directorin our Space Division. This newly created role will be a key enabler as the Space Division experiences a period of significant growth and opportunity.

The Engineering Director will report to the Space Division Senior Vice President and maintain close alignment with Moog's Chief Technology Officer in order to create and deliver a division-level engineering strategy. The role is accountable for technical leadership and innovation, core engineering processes, advanced manufacturing strategy, and workforce planning. Execution of the engineering strategy will be done through a high performing team of direct reports as well as through the work of Functional Engineering Directors that report through our Business Unit General Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

The Engineering Director will collaborate with our Growth & Strategy Team, and our Business Unit General Managers to develop and execute an engineering strategy and roadmap. This strategy will be driven by market intel, and future technology requirements to support next-generation opportunities, and beyond.

This role is critical in modeling and reinforcing a culture of engineering excellence and collaboration internally as well as with our customers and suppliers. The Engineering Director is ultimately accountable for design integrity, quality and efficiency of work, and advancing our manufacturing capabilities through our engineering function.

Looking across the Space Division, the Engineering Director will collaborate with Business Unit engineering leaders to proactively approach engineering talent development and progression, succession planning and workforce planning. This ensures we meet the current and future needs of the division, as well as the larger Space and Defense Group at Moog.

Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Software.

  • Experience:

    • 15 + years' experience in design engineering, development engineering, and/or product engineering.

    • 10+ years in progressive leadership roles that include establishing and executing strategy.

    • Demonstrated competence in facilitative, consensus-driven decision making. Experience influencing both internal and external stakeholders.

    • Strong business acumen; with experience bringing products through the development cycle into production.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $220,000.00-$290,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
