What to Expect We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Real-time Location Systems (RTLS) Lead/Senior Engineer to spearhead the design, deployment, and optimization of cutting-edge RTLS solutions across Tesla's global industrial sites. As part of our Global IT Manufacturing Solutions Engineering team, you will architect scalable, standardized systems leveraging GPS, BLE, and UWB technologies to empower supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, and facilities teams. Your work will drive operational excellence by delivering precise, reliable, and interoperable location tracking solutions that integrate seamlessly with Tesla's IT and OT ecosystems. In this fast-paced, high-impact role, you'll think end-to-end-designing, building, and operating solutions that scale across North America and beyond. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead Tier 1 RTLS vendors, and ensure ultra-reliable integration with Tesla's cloud, data platforms, and network infrastructure. Your ability to innovate independently, solve complex challenges, and deliver under tight timelines will be critical to success. What You'll Do Design and validate RTLS systems, including location tag testing, antenna/gateway verification, and use-case-specific accuracy optimization. Lead Tier 1 vendors to ensure robust integration with Tesla's wired/wireless networks, cloud platforms, and IT architecture, adhering to stringent security and scalability standards Leverage Diverse RTLS Technologies: GPS: Enable outdoor tracking for high-value assets, such as equipment, trucks, and mission-critical items in transit.BLE: Deploy large-scale indoor tracking and sensing for mobile equipment, assets, and condition monitoring of machinery. UWB: Implement high-precision indoor tracking in high-traffic areas like material flow zones and manufacturing lines Drive Standardization and Scalability: Ensure RTLS interoperability and product standardization to minimize vendor dependency and enable rapid global deployment.
