OpenText Workflow SME Job Summary B&A is seeking a highly experienced OpenText Workflow Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of enterprise content management (ECM) workflows within complex and secure Health IT environments. This role requires a deep understanding of OpenText Content Suite, AppWorks, and Archive Center, as well as enterprise-grade process automation, SOA-based architectures, and healthcare interoperability standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that automated workflow solutions align with business, technical, and security requirements across the enterprise. Responsibilities
- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of automated workflows using OpenText ECM platforms, including Content Suite, AppWorks, and Archive Center.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and system architects to translate functional and business requirements into technical workflow designs.
- Develop secure and scalable workflow solutions that support Health IT objectives and federal compliance standards.
- Configure, customize, and optimize workflows in OpenText systems to support document lifecycle management, business process automation, and auditability.
- Implement and support SOA-based integration patterns, including development of web services and APIs for system interoperability.
- Apply industry standards for healthcare integration, including IHE profiles such as Cross-Community Access (XCA) and Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS).
- Conduct peer reviews, lead workflow testing and validation, and document configurations and design decisions.
- Provide subject matter expertise for ECM governance, workflow best practices, and process improvement initiatives.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of technical experience related to Health IT and secure enterprise content management systems.
Required Skills
- CompTIA Security+ certification (required).
- OpenText certification in Content Server or AppWorks (required).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and Business Process Management (BPM) platforms.
- Experience implementing large-scale ECM solutions using OpenText products, including Content Suite, AppWorks, and Archive Center.
- Experience with SOA-based architectures, including web service development and system integration.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with IHE interoperability standards, including XCA and XDS (highly desired).
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF).
- Experience with agile methodologies and DevSecOps toolchains (e.g. Jira, Jenkins, Git).
- Experience with HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare data exchange protocols.
- Previous experience in Department of Defense (DoD) health IT environments (e.g., DHA, AHLTA, MHS GENESIS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Effective at prioritizing and executing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
