We are seeking an experienced GSM (Global Supply Management) Business Lead to manage and drive our regional supply chain performance, supplier relationships, and cross-functional collaboration at our Kansas City, Missouri location. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to shape sourcing strategies, lead M&A integrations, and foster sustainable supplier partnerships. About the Role As the GSM (Global Supply Management) Business Lead in Kansas City, MO, you will oversee the entire spectrum of GSM functions, focusing on delivering impactful results in productivity, quality, delivery, and sustainability across divisions. You will lead the regional GSM team, develop innovative sourcing strategies, and ensure compliance with global policies aligned with Hillenbrand Operating Model (HOM). This leadership role is crucial for supporting business growth, optimizing supply base performance, and executing M&A integrations, such as Linxis. Key Responsibilities
  • Regional GSM Strategy Leadership:Develop and implement division-specific sourcing strategies leveraging global category management best practices for both direct and indirect spend under GSM.
  • Supply Chain Performance Optimization:Analyze value chain performance, identify risks, and seize opportunities to improve quality, delivery, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Supplier & Market Analysis:Use market intelligence and cost insights to challenge the status quo, negotiate effectively, and drive exceptional value across supply chains.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:Partner with engineering, operations, finance, legal, and other departments to align sourcing initiatives with operational goals.
  • M&A & Integration:Lead GSM activities related to mergers and acquisitions, including integration projects like Linxis, ensuring seamless transition and realization of synergies.
  • Project & Program Management:Oversee major projects, from sourcing to contract management, ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, and risk mitigation.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers, ensuring compliance, innovation, and sustainability goals are met.
  • Team Leadership & Development:Coach and develop sourcing, procurement, and project teams, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Hillenbrand's values.
  • Performance Measurement:Track KPIs such as productivity, cost savings, working capital, quality, risk scores, and innovation metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management, or Cost Management are a plus.
  • 5+ years in tactical procurement and strategic sourcing roles.
  • 3+ years managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.
  • Extensive experience in global sourcing across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Proven success in M&A projects and supply chain integration.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with sourcing tools, PowerBI, SAP, or similar enterprise systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in Business English.
