Description TEKsystems is in need of a Senior Network Engineer to join their team on a contract to hire basis. Duties will be split 50/50 between operational engineering (keeping the lights on & responding to tickets) and project work. Some initiatives coming up include support, WAN circuit upgrades at 4 sites, upgrading network equipment, completion of a cutover of designated circuits to a secondary data center and evaluation and possible implementation of failover site for secondary data center. This person will also need to interact with vendors and contractors. ENVIRONMENT: Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto platforms. Routing protocols: OSPF (primary), static routes, weighted static routes The Meraki portion of the network is cloud based, but there is still a lot of premise based Cisco equipment. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for planning, monitoring, supporting, designing, and implementing information systems. This role requires expertise in Local and Wide Area Networking, network security, design, testing, implementation, monitoring and support of data networks, as well as regular systems maintenance and pro-active planning and implementation of improvements. Must be able to work with vendors and contractors and manage multiple district-wide projects. This role requires a forward-thinking professional with exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to harnessing technology to enhance outcomes.
