Responsibilities

Peraton requires Systems Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3. Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroad. This position is located at MacDill AFB.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

The primary objectives of the Security Operations Engineer are to design and build Security Operations Centers for our clients and implement the required parts of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) environment. Works closely with our Cybersecurity Incident Response team to fine tune detections for alerts for containment and remediation within the organization.

    Design, build, test, deploy Sentinel SIEM and Security Architectures
  • Serve as a deeply skilled and knowledgeable resource within the Sentinel SIEM technology area
  • Participate in project teams providing consultation on information security designs
  • Perform security incident tuning and analysis and recommend remediation steps
  • Participate in automation of the incident prioritization and false positives identification and tuning
  • Serve as deeply skilled and knowledgeable resource within the SOAR technology area
  • Experience developing/writing custom playbooks
  • Participate on interconnecting the Sentinel SIEM tool with sources of security incidents - e.g. logs from servers, network and security devices, Vulnerability Management system, Antivirus system, etc.
  • Analyzes systems performance data from tools such as OS and application logs via Splunk.
  • Develops and reviews system documentation and schematic diagrams (using tools such as Microsoft Word and Visio).
  • Defines and documents baselines to measure service performance and capability across a global enterprise.
  • Performs tier three systems support in accordance with the SIE OPORD; must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of data center hardware and software.Advises senior government staff on industry best practices and provide policy recommendations to implement those practices.
  • Leads teams in troubleshooting and proactively resolving data center technical issues and problems.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Min 16 years with HS degree,14 years with AS/AA, 12 years with BS/BA, 10 years with MS/MA, 7 years with PHD
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
  • DoD TS/SCI clearance

Highly Desired:

  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool, Sentinel
  • Programming and scripting skills, knowledge of and ability to write KQL queries
  • IT Security Certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Microsoft Sentinel Ninja Training, CEH, GCIH, GCIA, OSCP, etc.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
