Overview

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for a Drafter in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).



Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the 222-S Complex with computer-aided drafting and other duties as assigned, with general supervision. They will directly perform work of designer and drafter in support of the 222-S Plant Engineering group. This work includes the preparation of plan view, elevation views, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models and construction drawings for nuclear facilities. The successful candidate will assist with originating Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and conducting field walk-downs to verify field dimensions.

    Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design and reliable/safe plant operation.
  • Prepares design and drafting products in accordance with drawing procedures to standardize design effort.
  • Incorporates completed ECNs to update existing drawings for configuration control of facility Essential and Support drawings.
  • Prepares drawing revisions and Engineering Data Transmittals (EDTs) for drawing release in accordance with applicable codes, standards, procedures, and criteria.
  • Utilizes AutoCAD, Smart Plant, and other software. Applies working knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes, manuals, and standards to engineering design.
  • Performs drafting work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering or project tasks.
  • Reviews designs, plans, and shop drawings.
  • Coordinates and works closely with others in the Plant Engineering group to support ongoing design projects.
  • Maintains accurate records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.


Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in drafting, design, engineering technology, or a related field with 8 years of relevant design experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven 2D CAD and 3D skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.


Desired Qualifications

  • Hanford Drafter experience.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety principles and regulations.


Compensation

Grade 18: $106,663 - $134,588

The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
