Position Summary

Sikich is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a background in data analytics, financial reporting, and accounting. This role is contingent upon award of contract. This position requires an ACL Certified Data Analyst (ACDA).

What will you do in this role?

  • Provide analytical and technical support in the areas of federal financial reporting, accounting treatment, and data standardization.
  • Review and validate work products, including reports, reconciliations, and datasets, to ensure accuracy and compliance with government reporting requirements.
  • Support the compilation of the Agency Financial Report (AFR), including coordination with internal stakeholders and integration of data from multiple sources.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and reporting in alignment with the DATA Act and other federal financial management mandates.
  • Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and corrective action plans in accordance with federal guidance.
  • Lead or support strategic reorganization and financial transformation efforts to improve reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide expertise in financial management policy development and implementation.
  • Assist with program and project management activities, ensuring deliverables meet scope, quality, and deadline requirements.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring and documentation tasks to support compliance, audit readiness, and performance improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to standardize data definitions and improve data quality and governance.
  • Leverage ACL Analytics and other data tools to support ad hoc reporting, managerial analysis, and decision support.
  • Participate in client meetings, provide subject matter expertise, and contribute to strategic planning sessions.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • ACL Certified Data Analyst certification required.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in federal financial reporting, auditing, accounting, or data analytics.
  • Experience with DATA Act reporting, data standardization, and AFR preparation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal financial management policies and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or managing cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with report writing and presenting complex data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data tools such as ACL Analytics.
  • Project management experience a plus.

Knowledge in the following areas preferred:

  • Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards.
  • Government Accountability Office's (GAO's) Government Auditing Standards (GAS)
  • American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' (AICPA's) AU-Cs
  • GAO/Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Financial Audit Manual (FAM),
  • GAO Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM)
  • Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Bulletin 24-02, Audit Requirements for Federal Financial Statements (as amended)
  • Other requirements for federal reporting and accounting, such as U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) bulletins and circulars, the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL), etc.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the salary range for this role is $122,000.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
