Min T/E Requirements
A master's degree from an accredited college or university is required.

Minimum of three to five years of experience in assessment, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, or a related area. Knowledge of accreditation standards (e.g., HLC, SACSCOC, MSCHE) and assessment best practices.

Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, including experience with assessment software and institutional research tools.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across academic and administrative units.

Skills in active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, verbal and written communication. Primary Purpose of Organization Unit
The Office of the Provost provides academic leadership and strategic direction to support the university's mission of excellence in teaching, learning, scholarship, and student success. As the chief academic office, it oversees the development and implementation of academic policies, faculty affairs, curriculum and program planning, assessment and accreditation, and initiatives that promote continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness. The Office fosters collaboration across colleges, departments, and support units to ensure a high-quality educational experience and maintain compliance with regional and disciplinary accreditation standards.
Primary Purpose of Position
This position ensures compliance with accreditation standards, facilitates the use of assessment data for decision-making, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement across the institution. The Director of Assessment is responsible for leading the university's assessment initiatives to support institutional effectiveness, accreditation, and continuous improvement. The Director works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop, implement, and enhance assessment strategies for academic programs, student learning outcomes, and administrative units. This includes providing regular educational opportunities on best practices in student learning outcomes assessment, curricular alignment, and instructional design. The Director will lead the assessment of gateway courses and student support programs (e.g. academic advising, tutoring, etc) and will support all phases of the outcomes assessment process, facilitating stakeholder engagement to enhance student success and ensure compliance with disciplinary and regional accreditation standards. In addition, the Director will coordinate closely with the Teaching & Learning Center ( TLC), the Office of Online Learning ( OOL), and Institutional Research (IR) to align assessment activities with faculty development, online instructional design, and institutional data reporting.
Job Description
The Director of Assessment will provide leadership and training to both instructional and non-instructional units in developing, coordinating, and maintaining effective student learning outcomes assessment and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will employ data triangulation to analyze learning outcomes, develop methods for assessing new teaching strategies and classroom activities, oversee the administration of external assessments, and facilitate communication of continuous improvement efforts to stakeholders, including disciplinary and institutional accreditors.


Management Preference
Familiarity with student learning outcome assessment at both the programmatic and institutional levels.


Proficiency with data visualization and reporting tools.
Lic or Certification required by statute or regulation
