JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Shenango invites applications for part-time lecturers in Human Development and Family Studies, for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Job Duties

  • Teach in-person classes supporting our baccalaureate programs in Human Development and Family Studies, including introductory and advanced courses.
  • Commit to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment.
  • Use strategies for active and collaborative learning. Familiarity with instructional technology and online learning is an advantage.
  • Thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications for Human Development and Family Studies include a master's degree in Human Development and Family Studies or a closely-related field.
  • Previous college-level teaching experience, including the instructional use of technology, is strongly preferred.

Applicants will be reviewed based on their background, experience, and educational credentials.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
