As a Concrete - Quality Control Manager, you are responsible to plan, direct, coordinate and supervise quality control program's designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Manage the design and testing of aggregate & concrete products to meet customer quality requirements at best or lowest cost. Assist in marketing of concrete products and advise management team of new products, trends & technologies

Duties and/or Responsibilities:



  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. Optimize performance and cost of concrete mix designs. Strategic business focus with ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.
  • Monitor and benchmark the quality of materials. Formulates and maintains quality control objectives with production procedures in cooperation with all plant managers.
  • Responsible for the design and performance of all concrete mixes working with production staff to make necessary adjustments to mix designs and concrete production. Ensure through plant sampling of aggregates, cement and other materials that they meet established standards.
  • Assist sales department with all bids and submittals including attending pre-construction and pre-concrete meetings.
  • Investigates and work with sales staff to bring corrective action or resolution to all customer complaints
  • Customer service and support throuh job site visits and job site testing, dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal & external customers
  • Assist in marketing and sales efforts through product promotional programs for customers (contractors, engineers, architects and owners). Support day to day operations & marketing.
  • Research, develop and market new products. Assist in promotion of concrete and aggregate branded products. provide technical product expertise to sales and operations.
  • Directs workers engaged in testing of materials at all concrete plants and aggregate sites. In cooperation with Operations Managers and dispatch, determine and implement quality assurance staffing schedules and equipment requirements.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with public agency personnel, construction industry associations or other stakeholder groups to keep informed of new technologies, construction material design techniques or other relevant industry quality assurance issues.
  • Plans, promotes and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability, including various customer educational programs, sales & operations product quality training, and technicians training & development. Prepare and deliver technical tranin for the product line.
  • Evaluate new supplies of cementitious materials and admixtures
  • Interface with cement, concrete and gravel pit operations to assure quality and supply of products
  • Assure tests are accurately done and results are communicated in a timely manner to all stakeholders
  • Particiapte in local trade associations - ARM/MCC
  • Oversee the repairs, maintenance and housekeeping of labs and equipment. Ensure calibration of instruments are within acceptable levels.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Four-year degree in related field from an accredited university.
  • 5 years quality control and mix design management experience.
  • Possess a general knowledge of construction and Aggregate & Concrete products and a solid understanding of the market, competition and business opportunities.
  • Ability to province a minimum ACI certifications, and proper licensure, medical card & acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
