Facilities Management Job Summary:I. Job Summary:
Represent Operations to develop a safe, efficient, and reliable Low Carbon Ammonia facility using ATR technology. Responsible for reviewing plant design documents to ensure its ability to maintain safe and environmentally secure conditions. Work should be completed independently utilizing internal and external resources to provide solutions meeting stakeholder needs and consistent with acceptable operating practices. Job Description:

I. Job Summary:

Represent Operations to develop a safe, efficient, and reliable Low Carbon Ammonia facility using ATR technology. Responsible for reviewing plant design documents to ensure its ability to maintain safe and environmentally secure conditions. Work should be completed independently utilizing internal and external resources to provide solutions meeting stakeholder needs and consistent with acceptable operating practices.

II. Major Responsibilities:

Section 1 (Project Development)

  • Participate in 3-D model reviews for the facility with operator perspective on layout for safe and reliable operation of the equipment.
  • Review construction documentation prepared by outside engineering firms and vendors for compliance with project specifications and constructability, with focus on safe and reliable precommissioning, commissioning, startup and operations activities.
  • Review multidisciplinary comments to construction documentation, resolve open items with project team members, and communicate to contractors in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates plant operations with Engineering to gather timely feedback and information requested for project development.
  • Oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications during construction
  • Enter vessels, inspect equipment, and otherwise inspect systems to ensure they are suitable for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Develop preliminary precommissioning methods, review contractor and vendor precommissioning procedures, and lead the development of specific precommissioning procedures by Operations

Section 2 (Operation)

  • Plan training activities to staff the Blue Ammonia facility with qualified operators with a strong health, safety, and environmental culture.
  • Develop pre-commissioning and commissioning plans and procedures and work with project management to execute them with contract manpower.
  • Develop procedures needed for plant operations including start-up, shut-downs, emergencies, etc. and obtain approval from process engineering.
  • Support department's responsibility for maintaining up to date piping and instrumentation drawings

Section 3 (EHS)

  • Embraces safety and environmental stewardship as a core value of leadership
  • Participate in EHS risk assessment for the project in addition to design reviews, HAZOPs, LOPAs, model reviews, and other analysis with the engineering firms in the US and abroad.
  • Support the corporate EHS Policy and Programs by incorporating the applicable requirements into designs and continually evaluate ways to improve site safety

IV. Incumbent Attributes:

  • Education:High school diploma or equivalent
  • Years of experience: at least 5 years experience in operations
    • Preferred: Some combination of operations/engineering at CF (or a comparable chemical manufacturing company or an appropriate engineering and technology services provider).
  • Other unique job relevant attributes:
    • Extensive experience operating an ammonia plant, original pre-commissioning commissioning, and startup experience preferred
    • Proficient in basic computer skills
    • Ability and willingness to collect field data, enter process equipment for inspections, and otherwise work in an operating chemical facility environment
    • Willingness to travel to global locations including Houston, Italy, and Columbia as needed to support project activities
    • Willingness to relocate nearby the project site
    • Willingness to travel to fabrications yards abroad to witness construction and precommissioning activities.
    • Must be able to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
    • Maintain open and ongoing communication with supervision and Engineering on status and progress of work on assigned projects. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required. Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with personnel of all backgrounds.

Communicates with internal and external customers most typically related to process transactions to exchange information. May communicate with others in addition to customers. May serve as intermediary between supervisor or leader to other teammates. Moderate influence and persuasion are expected, particularly with regard to precommissioning subcontractors and the Operations group.
  • Complexity: May support complex problem-solving of a new or innovative situation. Regularly encounters complex situations within the normal course of a job's established procedures and practices.
  • Decision Making Authority: Decisions are made using minimal independent judgment to identify issues and patterns within normal job duties based on prior similar situations and precedents
  • Financial Accountability: Minimal to no financial responsibility other than one's own performance
  • Strategic Influence: Does not impact strategic and operational planning and execution
