We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Fellow to join Dr. Brian North's research group in the Biomedical Sciences Department at Creighton University School of Medicine. Work will largely focus on the aging heart and the interrelationship between aging and heart failure. A particular focus will be on understanding the molecular and cellular pathways that are at the intersection of aging and heart failure that may translate into novel therapeutic strategies. Our research employs a comprehensive array of models and methodologies, including molecular biology, cell lines, genetic mouse models, and transcriptomic and proteomic profiling to explore aging. A candidate should be able to take initiative and be capable of working independently with appropriate supervision and guidance. Should also be able to critically evaluate relevant scientific advances and integrate this knowledge into research programs and are expected to maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and present work at scientific conferences.
