Oversees the data-to-day responsibilities of a team focused on creating Enterprise-class data assets reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics that provide business insight and aid business decision-making. Assets will include (but not limited to) reports, visualizations, dashboards, and data extracts. Ensures meaningful quantitative or qualitative analyses is provided addressing impactful business issues or questions, combined with subject-matter expertise to deliver coherent, insightful takeaways comprehensive read-outs, and advice/recommendations grounded in what our data is telling us. Does all of the above by recruiting, retaining and enabling team members to do their best and most meaningful work with a supportive and team-driven approach to delivering value to our customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Education



  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)


Required Skills/Knowledge



  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, provide coaching, and deliver constructive feedback.
  • Strong collaboration, team-building, and conflict management skills across cross-functional groups.
  • Skilled in communicating complex findings clearly to executives and stakeholders; strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to influence and align teams with organizational goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Databricks for enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions.
  • Experience with EHR systems and healthcare data workflows, governance, and compliance.
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Visio, user flows, and workflow design.
  • Strong foundation in analytical techniques, including business, risk, root cause, and statistical process analysis.
  • Adept at adapting to changing priorities and leading teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and senior leadership


Required Licenses and Certifications



  • This position requires that the appropriate EPIC certification be successfully obtained and maintained for the assigned area of responsibility within 6 weeks of completing training or obtained prior to hire or demonstrated through work experience. 180 Days (Required)


Functional Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership & Direction



  • Define and execute the data and analytics strategy aligned with enterprise healthcare goals, leveraging Epic EHR data (e.g., Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer) to drive clinical, operational, and financial insights.
  • Set direction for the analytics team and operationalize key strategic initiatives as defined by senior leadership.
  • Identify and evaluate new technology opportunities that enhance enterprise-wide analytics capabilities and align with organizational priorities.


Stakeholder Engagement & Solution Design



  • Partner with clinical, operational, and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize analytics requirements based on resource availability (budget, timeline).
  • Manage the end-to-end design and development of scalable, reliable data solutions that meet business needs and comply with governance standards.
  • Translate complex Epic data into actionable insights and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Delivery Oversight & Governance



  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the analytics department, ensuring timely delivery of Epic-based reports, dashboards, visualizations, and data extracts.
  • Lead and review the work of the team to ensure high-quality, impactful outcomes aligned with departmental goals.
  • Uphold and maintain governance of departmental processes and design patterns to ensure consistency, scalability, and compliance.
  • Ensure all work is completed within established budgets and timelines, and that policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed.


Insight Generation & Impact



  • Ensure the team delivers meaningful quantitative and qualitative analyses using Epic data to address key business and clinical questions.
  • Combine data analysis with subject-matter expertise to produce coherent, insightful takeaways and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead change efforts and refine procedures to improve outcomes and ensure sustainable improvements in analytics delivery.


Team Leadership & Development



  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members; manage training and development of existing staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching, leadership, and technical guidance.
  • Share knowledge and develop staff capabilities to strengthen understanding of healthcare business issues and analytics best practices.
  • Inspire and motivate team members by clearly communicating organizational objectives and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.


Compliance & Quality Assurance



  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data governance policies, and ethical standards in the use of Epic patient data.
  • Collaborate with IT, compliance, and data governance teams to maintain data quality, security, and integrity.
  • Manage the full software/solution development lifecycle for analytics products, from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
