FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: Primary Hours: Monday - Friday, 11:00am - 7:30pm Position Summary The Sterile Processing Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of the Sterile Processing Department. This includes, but is not limited to, personnel supervision, supply and equipment inventories, and technical sterilization knowledge.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Accountable for safety and quality of sterilization procedures. 2. Works directly with Sterile Processing Technicians in carrying out objectives. 3. Directs and assigns work to auxiliary personnel. 4. Establishes instrument standardization program. 5. Inspires confidence by performing and communicating in a highly professional manner at all times. 6. Maintains awareness of changes in protocols/procedures of the department. 7. Produces work with minimal clerical/charting errors, including omissions. 8. Maintains proper functioning of instruments and equipment; coordinates repair when needed. 9. Maintains adequate supplies and equipment; coordinates ordering and delivery of equipment as needed, performs year-end inventory of supplies. 10. Produces departmental reporting as needed. 11. Ensures established productivity and staffing levels are maintained. 12. Coordinates department specific projects. 13. Leads staff in quality improvement and strategic initiatives 14. Participates in necessary meetings to represent department and provide communication and training to staff. 15. Participates in the yearly capital and departmental budgeting process. 16. Responsible for timely completion of annual review process for department. 17. Ensures proper wage and hour law is being followed and assists with approval of staff time worked as needed. 18. Participates in hiring, interviewing, and disciplinary action in coordination with Department Manager. 19. Through attitude and example, contributes toward intradepartmental and interdepartmental teamwork. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in acute care hospital environment with recent Sterile Processing or Operating Room experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) preferred. Pay and Benefit Expectations We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $25.32 - $36.44 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
