Remote Opportunity

Hanover Research is seeking an independent Secondary Research Contractor to collaborate with our seasoned in-house qualitative team on a project-by-project basis. Supporting clients across corporate industries, you will be responsible for the full life-cycle of secondary research-from initial scoping through insight delivery.

Working alongside our in-house Hybrid Research team, you will design and execute bespoke studies for corporate-industry clients, delivering actionable insights that drive strategic decisions. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility of project-based work while partnering with a Top-50 market-research firm.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting secondary research addressing research questions on key topics in business,

  • Collecting data from online sources to enable analysis,

  • Providing actionable recommendations and key findings to inform client decision-making,

  • Performing scoping research to evaluate project feasibility,

  • Performing other research special projects as needed.

  • Analyze findings and create PPT reports for each project with minimal oversight and editing.

  • Design interview and focus group protocols independently.

  • Analyze transcripts.

  • Conduct and record interviews/focus groups with industry experts or anyone relevant to our research in the industries and education sectors we serve.

Qualifications

  • Experience conducting research in a professional or academic settings using a mix of qualitative and quantitative information,

  • Willingness to tackle complex, often unfamiliar research topics,

  • Asks questions to understand problem scope and structure, identifies patterns, trends, and gaps in qualitative and quantitative data, constructs logic arguments leading to sound conclusions,

  • Ability to synthesize content and develop insight effectively,

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent PPT design skills,

  • Excellent time management skills,

  • Effective presentation skills,

  • Interviews experts to augment secondary sources,

  • Develops basic quantitative models using public and third-party data,

  • Produces clean, client-ready reports,

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Education Requirement

A Master's degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science or other social science or a Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of applied market research experience. Candidates with relevant experience who hold other degrees will be considered.

Experience Requirement

2 - 4 years of business or academic experience conducting qualitative research and writing professionally. Applied market research experience is preferred.

Compensation

Please note this compensation range is contingent on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
