The Senior Staff Accountant performs accounting activities, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis to prepare reports, tax returns, statements, and recommendations to support the site Controller. Senior Accountants may perform advanced and specialized accounting assignments involving complex and confidential data. The Senior Staff Accountant functions independently, requiring only general supervision, and may provide work leadership and direction to other accountants and clerical workers who perform such activities as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, and Collections.
Essential Functions

To accomplish this job, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily.


  • Responsible for the accounts receivable process including Invoicing, cash application, and collections
  • Assists Controller with monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assists Controller with the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Assists the Controller in developing, maintaining, and analysis for weekly cash forecasting
  • Performs reconciliations of selected accounts, investigates and resolves differences
  • Ensures all accounting activities performed comply with US GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Responds to tax and audit inquiries to provide data and conduct analysis as appropriate
  • Performs other ad-hoc projects and reporting as required
  • Provides general direction and support to administrative staff (A/P & A/R) in the Accounting department
  • Regular attendance on-site at the workplace is required


Required Education and Work Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required (a combination of relevant college credits and additional work experience may be considered in place of degree)
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in accounting/finance role including A/R experience is required; B2B collections experience preferred
  • Experience utilizing a comprehensive ERP system is required; Infor Visual experience preferred


Other Required Skills and Abilities


  • Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and standard accounting practices
  • Accuracy and detail orientation are essential
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to appropriately handle unexpected challenges
  • Self-management skills including efficiency, sense of urgency, ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances, and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word with demonstrated advanced Excel skills


Physical Demands and Work Environment

To perform the essential functions of the role, employees must be able to perform the following activities with or without reasonable accommodations:


  • Sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
  • Regularly stand and walk
  • Occasionally climb steps or stairs
  • Constantly communicate verbally and in writing (English) using a phone, texts or other messaging, and email
  • Use hands and fingers to operate telephone, computer keyboards, mouse, or other peripherals


The normal work environment is a typical office setting; however occasional visits to the warehouse/manufacturing environment will be required and the employee may be exposed to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vapors, and hazards including forklifts and other moving equipment. The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye protection, and use of safety footwear may be required during these visits.
