Description
Participate as a full time faculty member in Departmental and Medical School activities as a Clinical Teacher. The incumbent has a major commitment to education in the form of scholarly activities related to education, leadership, administration and promotion of excellence in clinical care.
A.Academic consideration time. (.05 FTE) B.Assume divisional and departmental administrative responsibility as directed by the Department of Internal Medicine Chair. C.Attend and prepare for coaching sessions and interview training courses as directed by Chair of Internal Medicine. (.15 FTE) D.Participate in education activities of the division; aid students and residents in their understanding of hypertension care of patients. (0.15 FTE) E.Contribute to conferences and journal club. (0.05 FTE)
II.Research 40%
A.Collaboration with Chair of Medicine on any and all Hypertension studies; participate in data collection and publication a.Prepare proposals and protocols for funding sources, implement studies and analyze results. b.Prepare draft manuscripts for publication and/or presentation. c.Acquire and compile statistical information on all projects, analyze and prepare graphic representations of results obtained from data collected in studies of therapy, etiology and epidemiology of lung diseases. d.Act as liaison between outside agencies and the division. III.Service 20%
A.Professional Services a.Assist with clinical workflows and documentation alongside Chair of Internal Medicine in Hypertension Clinic at least two half days per week b.Assist with clinical workflows and documentation alongside chief residents and other attendings as needed to complete service commitment
