POSITION SUMMARY:

Sugarbush Resort invites an inspiring sales leader to spearhead growth across our dynamic portfolio of resort operations. The Director must cultivate a high-performing team rooted in shared purpose, where every voice is heard and valued. They will be responsible for meeting multimillion sales and revenue objectives for each area and will develop targeted sales strategies to drive new business opportunities and expand customer acquisition. The Director will collaborate closely with each team member to establish effective and proactive goals to maximize the sales team's potential. In addition, the Director will work closely with the V.P. of Sales and Marketing to research, analyze, develop, and implement sales plans for each market segment that expands the resort's success, drives lead generation and conversion, and grows revenue. The Director will be a motivated, results driven individual who will also be responsible for building and managing key new and existing account relationships. This position is Full-time Year-round and pays between $82,000-$87,000 annually depending on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for planning, guiding and implementing the sales initiatives of Sugarbush's Group, Corporate, Wedding, and Vacation Sales.
  • Develop annual sales plans for each area and identify emerging markets, products and revenue drivers. Proactively capitalize on market trends while considering new product opportunities and competitor status.
  • Create yearly revenue expectations and sales goals for each business. Develop and implement new initiatives, strategies and programs to capture key demographics.
  • Manage all aspects of group sales including overnight and day group sales, tour operators, corporate and college season passes, bulk and offsite tickets, weddings and conference sales.
  • Working with Vacation Sales, Contact Center and Marketing, create and develop engaging destination products, pricing, deals, and promotions that maximizes occupancy and guest visitation for each season.
  • Proactively manage and coach each sales team and its employees to improve sales and business development skills, achieve revenue growth and meet agreed upon sales targets.
  • Focus and prioritize efforts for sales team members to maximize sales revenues. Have weekly coaching meetings with each employee to review sales, lead generation and business development efforts, and ensure monthly sales goals and performance targets are met.
  • Manage and develop the Resort's Call Center staff and revenue potential.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly tracking and reports for each area, (sales pipeline, actuals/budget, leads for the week; conversion of leads to sales etc). Use information for weekly coaching meetings to guide and improve sales team. Provide timely results and updates to V.P. of Sales and Marketing and Executive Committee on each business area.
  • Instill a mindset within the team that consistently strives for exceptional standards.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicant must be pro-active, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
  • Candidate must have a collaborative working style, excellent communications and interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a larger team.
  • Applicant must have extensive knowledge of sales, customer and lead generating strategies.
  • Applicant must have demonstrated experience managing, coaching, and leading high performing, goal orientated teams.
  • 9-12 years sales and management experience preferred. Background in resort sales beneficial.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook skills) and Delphi.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments interacting with a variety of departments and employees. Able to accomplish projects with little supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
