The Director or Strategic Sourcing & Procurement is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of sourcing. The Director will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of robust category strategies which will deliver improvements in quality, savings, and continuity of supply. This individual is responsible for establishing appropriate vendor performance metrics, and the facilitation of vendor performance evaluation.

What You Do.

Strategic Contribution



  • Lead engagement with business partners to influence business strategy leveraging supply market insights and align sourcing strategies
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement fields
  • Champion a three-year pipeline of savings and value plans in alignment with category and business strategies to deliver sustainable productivity
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in sourcing processes, tools and operating model
  • Lead and manage strategic cross functional projects


Develop Category Strategies



  • Identify, prioritize and execute potential sourcing opportunities
  • Lead or participate in negotiations of legal agreements that result in preferred pricing, continued source of supply and terms and conditions
  • Ensure ongoing awareness of market trends for major categories and proactively adapt procurement strategy and report to top management/organization when necessary on market and pricing trends that affect major company products
  • Identify and mitigate supply risk


Organizational Alignment



  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and innovation to meet company goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with Business Partners to deliver year over year productivity and operating efficiencies
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor to senior leadership, providing counsel and guidance in the acquisition of products and services.


Leadership / People Development



  • Build and develop a high-performing sourcing team
  • Championing organizational change management processes
  • Foster an environment of collaboration


Must be able to travel up to 15% of time.

Your Education and Experience.



  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree Preferred; with 12+ years of Sourcing and a minimum of 5 years of supervisory responsibilities required.
  • Strong computer skills are necessary, this includes word processing, spreadsheets, presentation programs, ERP systems and utilization of the Internet.
  • CPM, APP, CPSM or equivalent certificates preferred. Drivers License required.
