The construction of fairlife's manufacturing facility in Webster, NY is underway. This state-of-the-art, 750k sq ft, greenfield plant is expected to be operational in late 2025 and will lay the foundation for fairlife's next phase of growth as the leading dairy nutrition provider. While coupling the industry's latest technologies and fairlife's operational excellence to build this world-class facility, fairlife plans to hire 250 new employees and bring in approximately 5 million lbs. of milk a day, with room to grow over the coming years.

job purpose: The Maintenance Training Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering technical training programs for maintenance personnel at the fairlife manufacturing plant. This role ensures employees are properly trained, certified, and equipped to meet operational standards. Working closely with supervisors, trainers, and equipment vendors, the specialist identifies skill gaps, supports onboarding, and drives continuous learning to enhance workforce readiness and plant performance.

responsibilities:



  • Deliver flexible training schedules to accommodate all shifts.
  • Lead onboarding and technical training for new maintenance hires.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and feedback sessions during onboarding.
  • Monitor new hire progress and satisfaction for up to 60 days.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess training needs and close skill gaps.
  • Design and implement scalable training programs across departments.
  • Develop instructional materials (SOPs, manuals, videos) with subject matter experts.
  • Coordinate internal and external training sessions and ensure material accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate training records and partner with LMS administrators.
  • Track employee progress and ensure compliance with training requirements.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust programs based on feedback and performance data.
  • Create and manage training metrics aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee training budgets, calendars, and communication.
  • Ensure employees are qualified and certified through structured training.
  • Support cross-training and personalized development plans.
  • Stay updated on training trends and technologies.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support department goals.


skills/qualifications required:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or post-secondary education preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience (hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, basic electrical).
  • Proficient in MS Office and plant control software.
  • Able to read technical documents, schematics, and equipment drawings.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Collaborative and adaptable to changing production needs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
  • Experience with eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and video editing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods or time.
  • Occasional lifting requirements as job demands of up to 50 lbs.
  • Stands, walks and sits during completion of job responsibilities.
  • Exposure to industrial hazards.

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
