Job Description
Primary Purpose The Principal Financial Analyst leads the consolidation process of the Sempra Infrastructure financial statements for the one-year, five-year and 10-year financial plans, and related outlooks. This position will have the key responsibilities of leading financial analysis, financial key metrics preparation, and cash activity and distributions forecasts, proactively partnering with the business line contributors, accounting, corporate planning, treasury and tax groups to ensure a seamless planning process and coordinate variance analysis with actual results and emerging business issues. Applicant should have a strong desire for collaboration and be team-oriented.
Duties and Responsibilities
- MSupport manager in preparation and review process of consolidation of the one-year, five-year and 10-year financial plans, and related outlooks for Sempra Infrastructure.
- Assist in preparing models, reports, and variance analysis in support of Sempra Infrastructure partnership agreements, as well as for Sempra Corporate.
- Prepare baseline planning models to support treasury and finance, including the issuance / retirement of long-term debt and commercial paper, cash distributions to partners, and management of multiple rating agency, debt covenant and leverage calculations, as well as preparing scenario analysis to support business growth, development, and M&A opportunities.
- Prepare presentation materials in support of Investor Relations requests and Sempra Infrastructure Board meetings.
- Support the growth of the TM1 planning system by working closely with the AS&C team to ensure we can produce accurate financial statements on a consolidated basis in a timely manner as well as continue to expand our reporting capabilities.
- Coordinate with Corporate Planning to assist with waterfall analysis, metric calculations such as ROIC and all other Corporate ad hoc requests
- Provide direction to Senior Analysts and Analysts within the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in a business environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with analyzing and developing financial statements.
- Ability to identify process improvements and to participate in the implementation of new technologies.
- Good knowledge of income tax and key financial evaluation concepts.
- Ability and drive to advance an issue or problem from identification through resolution.
- Strong project management and organization skills, ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse audience.
- Flexibility to perform a variety of duties and serve as back up of other functions, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TM1 and Hyperion Strategic Finance or similar planning applications highly desired. Intermediate
- Advanced skills with Excel and financial modeling preferred.
- Professional certification is a plus (CFA, CPA, CMA, etc.)
Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 3 days per week onsite.
