The Trade Compliance Manager ensures compliance with international trade laws and regulations, focusing on import documentation, classification, and clearance. Manage import and export transactions, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with NTN departments and external stakeholders to prevent violations and mitigate risks. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing documents, classifying goods, auditing shipping procedures, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Support NTN mission by assuring compliance with US and Global Trade regulations and company policies, procedures, methods, and practices.
  • Ensure trade documentation is correct and in good order.
  • Perform day-to-day activities of NTN import processes for all NTN business units and assure timely and cost-effective operations.
  • Provide insights into management and customers regarding the requirements of importing various goods, set up parts as necessary


  • Responsible for the keeping Free Trade Agreement Certifications compliant and in good order - specifically USMCA
  • Provides support to legal, supply chain, and business innovation teams who manage and lead the Free Trade Zone, including projects


  • Develop and implement trade compliance policies in partnership with various departmental stakeholders and peers.
  • Responsible for data analysis and inputs for changes to current NTN trade practices and processes; candidate should have detailed knowledge of ACE and its reports


  • Prepare and review import documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin
  • Perform tariff harmonization for NTN in accordance with legal team, finance and NTN US locations



Education & Experience



  • BS degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in international operations, import or exports, and/or customs brokerage
  • Where no degree must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in international operations, import or exports, and/or customs brokerage with Customs broker License or Customs Compliance Specialist (CCS) certification



Knowledge & Skills



  • International Trade Laws and Regulations: A strong understanding of US and international trade laws, regulations, and free trade agreements.
  • Detail Orientation: Meticulous in handling documentation and ensuring accuracy.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, assess risks, and identify potential compliance issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve compliance issues.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in relevant software, such as Microsoft Office.
