The Remote Patient Monitoring Clinical Nurse Educator identifies and implements nursing interventions and evaluates results for a wide variety of patient populations, directs and acts as resource to other members of the nursing team as assigned and promotes compliance and support for policies. The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties; and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.

The primary goal of the department is to develop an effective and cost-efficient system for delivering and managing patient-centered, quality care. This includes focusing on patients with chronic illnesses, those at risk of illness, and individuals with acute, chronic, or complex situations. The Remote Patient Monitoring Clinical Nurse Educator works independently but receives guidance on the department's overall goals and objectives. They utilize specialized knowledge and skills in patient/family care, nursing practice, and the organization/system.

- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or entry-level MSN if Bachelor's degree in another field of study.
- At least Five (5) years of recent RN experience on a dedicated cardiac floor
- Experience and advanced understanding of the medical management of cardiac diseases
- Experience providing patient education and caring for patients with cardiac diseases
- Experience providing direct patient care including administering immunizations, starting IVs, drawing lab specimens, and administering IV medication.
- Experience caring for patients receiving medical management of cardiac diseases including hypertension, dyslipidemia, coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
