MV Transportation is seeking a motivated Payroll Clerk / CSR to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to accurately prepare and process payroll for all project employees on a bi-weekly basis, provide administrative assistance with employee file information, and prepare monthly reports for our client. This position will require working closely with the Accounting Manager and Division Manager to ensure all project staff hours are processed effectively and efficiently. In addition, the role will include Customer Service Representativeduties who will be responsible for a variety of clerical duties, including reconciling drivers manifests and accurate entry of data in software, taking reservations, providing information, general office duties and other assigned clerical duties. He/she must have basic Excel skills, excellent ten key skills, be attentive to detail, professional, provide superior customer service for both internal and external customers and be able to work in a team environment in a fast-paced office, able to investigate and elevate issues to leadership as necessary and must have strong communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Enter all payroll information daily in appropriate software, making note of potential pay discrepancies and ensuring accuracy of employee time data.
• Maintain an accurate payroll template to ensure all hours are paid and accounted for.
• Distribute paychecks on a bi-weekly basis.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports for the Operations Manager and General Manager comparing revenue hours and payroll hours to county specified hours.
• Address and resolve employee concerns regarding hours worked, pay rates, taxes, garnishments, and paycheck discrepancies.
• Ensure accuracy of payroll accounting in general ledger and monthly financial statements.
• Update and maintain payroll related employee file information.
• Accurately and efficiently process wage and salary increases.
• Provide timely updates to employees through memoranda and other means.
• Other duties as assigned.

Talent Requirements:

• Associate degree with 1 year of experience OR High school degree/equivalent with at least 2 years of experience
• Ideal candidates will have at least one year of data entry, payroll processing, and clerical experience.
• Strong customer service experience required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills.
• General knowledge of windows-based computer operating systems.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
