Position Summary

To provide basic care to patients in a variety of age groups, assist patients with activities of daily living, and perform general nursing unit activities under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. To perform waste management activities (i.e., preparing linen, refuse, garbage, rubbish, contaminated trash, glass, and biological waste). Helping with stocking supplies, placing warehouse orders when needed, transporting patients for discharge, turning over procedural rooms and beds on the unit as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

Hospital related experience preferred.

Skills

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods; to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team and staff; to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; to set priorities and solve problems; to respond quickly to emergency requests; to communicate effectively (orally and in writing); and to assist in meeting the patient care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Execute duties without loss of efficiency or composure.

Pay Range: $19.33 - $24.16 (per hour)
