Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Supervisor oversees and coordinates the implementation of clinical documentation, service provision, and monitoring of program client cases. Additionally, this position supervises and evaluates clinical staff and performs other related administrative and clinical functions to ensure program quality and compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides individual and group clinical supervision to therapists, case managers, and interns. Conducts individual and group supervisions, discusses client treatment goals and progress on goals, reviews therapeutic modalities and interventions that are being implemented regarding the individual's progress and documents supervision sessions
  • Oversees programmatic and administrative issues, including client admissions, service modifications, program planning, and regulations to ensure program compliance and quality of client care; works collaboratively with managed care organizations (MCOs) and county liaisons and provides support to team with outside providers if the need arises regarding continuity of individual's care
  • Reviews, monitors, and ensures timely completion (per dictated schedule) of all required documents from program staff (e.g. initial admission documentation to be completed within twenty four hours, treatment plans, clinical documentation is up to date, weekly therapeutic notes, daily progress notes are put into chart daily) to ensure program compliance
  • Maintains strong, productive relationships with all funding sources including managed care organizations (MCO) to communicate client's progress and any changes in treatment
  • Prepares for regulatory audits and performance reviews with tasks including but not limited to reviewing charts, making sure progress notes, treatment plans, and other clinical documentation are up-to-date, and making sure any correction plans are being followed
  • Maintains current knowledge of community resources (e.g. upcoming trainings, identifying residential and/or community residential rehabilitation programs, independent housing, resource fairs, specialists) to advise residents of opportunities available once they are seeking discharge.
  • Develops and maintains an outcomes report which includes performance indicators and quality assurance measures including but not limited to goal data tracking, and treatment plans to monitor service completion and to ensure service delivery and quality
  • Provides supervision of assigned staff in the areas including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, leadership, coaching, training, performance management, promotion, discipline, and termination; provides coverage of assigned cases when staff are out of office
  • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and safe crisis management using agency-trained protocols
  • Performs other duties as assigned

DIRECT REPORTS: Therapists, Case Managers
CONTACTS: Elwyn staff, individuals, families/ guardian/ support system of clientele, visitors, funding sources/agencies/social service agencies, community mental health centers and hospitals, advocacy groups, employers, health maintenance organizations, community resource liaisons, interns
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master's degree in clinical psychology, social work, or related field
  • Three (3) years' experience in the field of adult behavioral health
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of county agency contacts, MCOs, Base Service Units relative to resources available to provide to individuals served preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred
  • Must be able to perform CPR, first aid, and safe crisis management using agency-trained protocols
  • Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record
