Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Coordinator, Logistics - Biomed - Full Time Days - Biomed - Suffolk - - Monday-Friday 08:00 AM - 04.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for assisting Logistic Managers and Project Managers with the management of systems, procedures and means of procurement to supply nursing units with standard items, services and equipment. Collaborate with managers in the analysis of utilization, needs and practices; develop and implement cost containment and cost reduction.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages inventory for assigned units/locations. Works with clinical team to develop min/max for all items. Develops PAR's based on lead time, frequency and usage to prevent stock out. Adjust PAR's based on volume increase/procedural changes.
  • Collaborates with clinical team to build new PAR locations and make updated to the existing locations based on clinical needs.
  • Performs rounds daily meeting with NM's or clinical leads to give and receive feedback and address any issues.
  • Manages all supply conversions and all new items adds for the site/location. Works with OPI and VA teams to resolve MBO, allocation or constrained items.
  • Collaborates and communicates with the Data Team to insure correct UOM and items specifications are added/updated in PeopleSoft
  • Receives, unloads and loads hospital supplies and equipment. Receives supplies and equipment from vendors and verifies accuracy and count of items received. Stocking, packing and unpacking of supplies and equipment for deployment and repacking for shipment as needed.
  • Makes special pickups/deliveries of time-related materials,
  • Operates pallet jack and other material handling equipment to pick supplies and equipment from stock in a safe and efficient manner. Adheres to all workload schedules. Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Ensures that supplies and equipment delivered to the end users or for the par program are accounted for by a complete, appropriate and accurate.
  • Makes deliveries of requested supplies for patient care areas throughout the offsite location. Obtains appropriate signatures when issuing/delivering supplies.
  • Ensures par-stock carts are accurately filled to the appropriate stock level. Ensures a neat and orderly appearance of the supply carts/closets/rooms and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains inventory levels by checking shelves, restocking supply carts, and maintaining supply records. Replenishes par-stock carts in building/location.
  • Receives, loads and unloads pallets, carts and boxes of supplies and ultimately delivers them to the requester and/or appropriate PAR/storage location.
  • Reports all discrepancies such as over-shipment, shortages, damages, incorrect catalog numbers and POs information to the Buyer or Data team for intervention. Maintains accurate records of all transactions, as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 0-1 or more years of project management or procurement experience or supply chain experience in an acute care facility, healthcare, or related environment. PC literacy is required with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Effective communication skills, verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:
3 years supply chain, project management or procurement experience in an acute care facility, healthcare or related environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with computerized inventory management and warehousing systems such as barcode and handheld scanning devices etc. Effectively able plan, organize, prioritize, and execute work/projects with attention to details. Accuracy in record-keeping. Strong attention to detail. Participates in identifying problems and suggesting solutions. Maintains professional interactions with clinical customers and supply chain staff. Demonstrates an ability to function successfully in stressful situations. Exhibits courteous, compassionate and respectful treatment of internal and external customers. Highly motivated and detail oriented desired. Must able to handle multi tasks. Maintains a professional appearance at all times.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
