Position Title: Program administrative Coordinator, SPROUT Research Training Program

School of Kinesiology

Salary Range: Hourly 35.00-38.00

Work Schedule: This is part-time, non-exempt positon; Monday - Friday, hours to be determined. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Stefan Keslacy, The Program Administrative Coordinator provides the day-to-day operational backbone for SPROUT, a research-training initiative in which undergraduate and graduate students complete a core course and then work one-on-one with faculty mentors in active laboratories. The coordinator processes all hiring and payroll paperwork for students and participating faculty, serves as the primary liaison among University Administrative Services (UAS), Health & Human Services (HHS), principal investigators (PIs), mentors, and students, and manages logistics for the annual SPROUT Research Symposium each August. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to juggle multiple administrative projects on tight timelines.

Requirements: The incumbent must have a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. One year of experience in administrative support, HR onboarding, payroll processing, or academic program coordination. Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace); comfort learning university HR/finance platforms. Proven ability to manage overlapping deadlines and maintain accurate records. Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated commitment to customer service and inclusive practices

Desired Qualifications: Experience supporting federally funded training or research programs. Familiarity with university HR systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday) and basic budgeting procedures. Event-planning experience, particularly academic conferences or poster sessions.

The incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the UAS. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current UAS employees who apply for the position.
