NDT Radiography Technician II

Job Summary

Perform Radiographic Weld inspection. Processes hardware in accordance with internal, customer and/or industry requirements. Evaluates and interprets the quality of applicable fusion weld, machined and forged products to meet company and customer specifications. Supports other NDT personnel; provides guidance to and mentors trainees; and Level I technicians.

• Computed Radiography (CR) and/or Digital Radiography (DDA) experience desired, but willing to train the right candidate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform proper warm up and system performance checks of NDT equipment.
• Maintains daily, monthly logs and applicable records to assure traceability of components.
• Perform interpretations and evaluations of NDT results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• May perform and/or participate in NDT system, customer, internal and NADCAP audits.
• Provides on-the-job training and guidance to NDT trainees and NDT Level I personnel.
• May perform level I duties in addition to level II duties.
• Is responsible for writing work instructions and/or techniques and other documentation.
• Schedule production jobs to accommodate Operations demands.
• May process and approve SWRs for the NDT department inspectors.
• Provide status updates regarding progress and delays to NDT Supervisor/Manager.
• Verify all equipment calibrations are current.
• Monitor department for on time delivery.
• Shall comply with other duties as assigned.
• Overtime may be required to meet production schedule.

Education and Experience

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent, plus successful completion of ASNT Level I, II courses.
• Requires documentation demonstrating completion of at least the minimum hours of formal classroom training and experience in each NDT method requiring certification. These hours are required to meet the minimum requirements of SNT-TC-1A and NAS 410 Rev.5. Candidates familiar with SNT-TC 1A, NAS-410, AWS, ASTM, Boeing, Rolls Royce, Lockheed Martin a plus.

• Qualifications are based on SNT TC-1A and NAS 410.
• Demonstrated familiarity with the scope and limitations of NDT methods
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Experience with stainless steel alloys, titanium, aluminum.
• Familiar with NADCAP audits.
• Must pay close attention to detail and be accurate.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal interface across organizational levels.
• Shall pass company Level 2 written exams (General and Specific) and Practical exams.

• Ability to pass Boeing's Fracture Critical (practical) certification process.
