Position Summary:

AccuWeatherseeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, and assist in the preparation of financial statements. This role offers an opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to a high-performing and collaborative accounting department.

This position is required to be located onsite at the AccuWeather Headquarters in State College, PA.

Key Responsibilities



  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain and organize accounting records and documentation.
  • Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (GAAP), and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and provide financial insights.



Qualification

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience (public or corporate).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


Preferred:



  • CPA or CPA-track.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures.
