Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products Group is seeking a qualified professional for their Maintenance Material Coordinator opportunity supporting the Palatka, FL manufacturing operation. This position will work closely with maintenance and reliability, operating areas, purchasing, suppliers, and engineering personnel to provide effective availability of maintenance materials.

Our Team

Georgia Pacific's Palatka Mill is located just south of Jacksonville and west of St. Augustine, FL, the Palatka mill employs about 1000 people supporting a fully integrated pulp mill, six paper machines and several converting lines. The Palatka Mill produces consumer tissue products such as bath tissue and paper towels sold under the Georgia-Pacific brand names of Angel Soft, Quilted Northern, Brawny, and Sparkle.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate the flow of maintenance materials for your assigned work area internally (storeroom, repair shops, etc.) and externally (suppliers).
  • Support the execution of the maintenance work process by monitoring/influencing each level of the work process such as confirmation of part deliveries, follow-up on estimated dates, as well as parts returns.
  • Ensuring that the delivery of parts/kits and return of cores/unused materials is done in a timely and controlled manner.
  • Review work orders awaiting material and provide timely feedback to maintenance and operations to adjust schedules and priorities.
  • Attend area prioritization meetings for routine maintenance as well as planning and prioritization meetings for routine and annual outages as requested.
  • Ensure drop zones are managed appropriately and meet work process and housekeeping standards.
  • Manage relationships with preferred suppliers and work with purchasing to leverage new vendor relationships to adjust to the mills growing needs.
  • Work directly with the manufacturing areas and the storeroom to remove over-max inventory.
  • Support elimination of off-book inventory (OBI)
  • Routinely review GP Standards and audit vendors to ensure standards are being met.
  • Effectively use the computerized maintenance management system (SAP) to ensure accurate information is maintained/developed at each level of the repair process.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in materials management in an industrial facility
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in Supply Chain and managing inventory
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system
  • Experience working in procurement or as a maintenance planner within a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment
  • Degree or certifications in engineering or business management
