JOB SUMMARY
Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Senior PowerBI Developer for a 6M C2H opportunity located in Dallas, TX 75019 (onsite 2-3 days per week). The Senior PowerBI Developer will join the Data Analytics Teams and must possess expertise in Snowflake, designing, developing, and maintaining PowerBI dashboards and reports that transform complex data into actionable insights. The Senior PowerBI Developer will work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams (finance / operations / sales / marketing, etc.) to deliver high-impact analytic solutions and optimize data access with Snowflake.
  • Design / Develop Advanced PowerBI Dashboards / Reports / Data Visualizations - Supporting Decision-Making
  • Build Efficient / Scalable Data Models in PowerBI - DAX / PowerQuery, etc.
  • ETL Data from Snowflake / Additional Sources - Collaborating with Data Engineers
  • Write Complex SQL Queries Against Snowflake - Data Preparation / Validation / Analysis
  • Partner with Stakeholders - Understanding Reporting Requirements / Translating them into Technical Solutions
  • Implement Row-Level Security / Drill-Throughs / Bookmarks / PowerBI Features - Enhancing Usability
  • Optimize PowerBI Reports - Reporting Performance / Scalability
  • Define / Enforce Data Governance / Quality Standards / Data Security Policies

About the Project: The Senior PowerBI Developer will play a pivotal role in advancing enterprise analytics capabilities for a mission-driven organization undergoing a strategic data modernization initiative. The Senior PowerBI Developer will sit at the intersection of business intelligence and cloud data architecture, helping to convert a modern Snowflake data warehouse into actionable insights through high-impact dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions. The Senior PowerBI Developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable PowerBI solutions that drive decision-making and operational visibility. The Senior PowerBI Developer is a hands-on, highly-visible opportunity that requires advanced DAX modeling, performance tuning, SQL development in Snowflake, and supporting self-service BI adoption.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Business Intelligence / Data Analysis (7+ years)
  • Senior PowerBI Developer (7+ years) - PowerQuery / PowerAutomate / Dashboards / Reports / Visualizations
  • Snowflake / SQL (advanced) - Writing Stored Procedures / UDFs (User Defined Functions) / Data Sharing
  • PowerBI-to-Snowflake / Cloud Data Platforms - Connecting PowerBI to Azure / AWS / GCP, etc.
  • Data Modeling (DAX / PowerQuery) / Star/Snowflake Schema Design / Data Warehousing Concepts (strong understanding)
  • Translating Complex Business Processes into Data Solutions

PREFERRED (not required)
  • Additional BI Tools - Tableau / Looker, etc.
  • Python / DBT / Data Orchestration Tools - Airflow, etc.
  • Agile Development Tools - JIRA / Azure DevOps
  • PowerBI Certifications - PL-300, etc.
  • Industry Experience - Healthcare / Finance / Manufacturing Domains
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
